Driving Visual Innovation Across Iconic Sports Franchises

At EA Sports, Philip initiated and built a centralized visual development group to support multiple titles across the studio — an innovation that streamlined creative alignment and accelerated prototyping. Starting as a Senior Concept Artist, Philip was promoted to Art Director and ultimately Studio Art Director, leading cross-disciplinary collaboration on Madden NFL, NFL Street, and NASCAR. My work spanned concept art, motion graphics, UI mockups, and visual strategy, helping unify gameplay, branding, and user experience across teams.

EA Sports: NFL Street

Philip Straub created key concept art and provided art direction for NFL Street 2 and 3, helping define the franchise’s bold, stylized visual identity. My focus was on blending street culture, dynamic energy, and exaggerated realism to elevate the game's attitude and distinct aesthetic.

EA Sports: Nascar 06

As Concept Art Director and Concept Artist for NASCAR 06: Total Team Control, Philip and his team developed a holistic visual strategy encompassing lighting, color palette, mood, and color scripting. Our work ensured a cohesive and immersive presentation across the product.
